School Board July 15th

Last night, the Pella School Board held their regular meeting. Approved items included one resignation and 11 new hires, along with a 28E agreement for after-school care with Crossroads. A welding agreement with Vermeer was pushed back until the next meeting, so the board can meet with executives for final approval. The bid to supply the districts bread has been troublesome, and will be readdressed during the August meeting. Two milk bids for the 2013/2014 school year were considered, with an initial vote to accept a change from AE to Hiland Dairies considered. After much discussion, it was decided to remain with AE, since local farmers supply much of the milk, while Hiland is located out of state. The next meeting was scheduled for August 12th.
