The Pleasantville community is using their traditional 4th of July celebration to raise money for one of their own. Seven-year-old Alyssa Scheve is currently recovering after having a brain tumor removed in May. The 4th of July benefit is meant to help alleviate some of the family’s financial stress during their trying time. Activities include a parade, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, games at the park, and more.
