The regionalization of mental health services was a topic of discussion during the Marion County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. Supervisor Mark Raymie says that the outline of a 28E agreement between Marion, Mahaska, and Poweshiek Counties is in place. He explains this would provide for the legal structure of the regionalization of services, though more work has to be done to finalize the case management and operations aspects of the agreement. Raymie says that the goal is to have effective case management without increasing what they’re spending. He hopes that the committee will have the 28E agreement approved by the end of August.
