Pella got into an early five-nothing deficit to Fairfield on the baseball diamond and couldn’t climb out of it last night, dropping their regular-season finale 7 – 1. Ryan Shull and Grant Judkins were each 1-for-3, and they had the only base hits of the game for the Little Dutch. Austin Titman pitched great in relief of Tanner Wood, throwing three-and-a-third scoreless innings and striking out five. The loss breaks Pella’s three-game winning streak and they finish their regular season with a record of 15 – 18. Pella’s next contest is Friday against Norwalk in the first round of the Class 3A district playoffs.
