Though they couldn’t push the tying run across in the late going against Colfax-Mingo, Pella Christian’s baseball team had a lot to be proud of this season. Nate Johnson in his first year as head coach, led his team to a 14 – 17 record, including some quality wins over some Class 3A and 4A opponents within the conference. For the small handful of seniors that depart the program and the school, Assistant Coach, Emery Stewart said after their loss to Colfax, that though he’s upset for the kids and their season ending, he is really proud of the strides the team made over the course of the year. Caleb Morgan, Alex Campbell, Josh VanGorp and Spencer Fynaardt were the four seniors that graduated ta few months ago, and played their last game in an Eagles uniform under Johnson’s lead.
