With the win over North Mahaska on Tuesday night, the Twin Cedars baseball team realized a goal they set before play began this season. Now, with a state qualifying banner guaranteed to be hanging in their gym for years to come, the Sabers have set a new goal: hanging a state championship banner. That will all start tomorrow night when they meet-up with rival Martensdale-St.Mary’s in the first round at Principal Park. This team has played in a few games on the Iowa Cubs’ field the past two seasons, and Coach Matt Miller says they’ve done that for a reason. Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Twin Cedars met up earlier this season, with the Sabers winning that game 5 – 4. Tomorrow night’s game will be live on KNIA/KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with our pregame show starting at 7:45 p.m. and first pitch at 8:00.
