How does one prosper in college and find the right career? Mark Putnam, President of Central College has some ideas:

Don’t think that you have to pick the right major, the right school. Many get it wrong, and that’s OK.

Get a wide variety of experiences. The more you experience, the more different classes, internships, professors you encounter the greater the probability is you will find the right career path.

Success in college emerges from exposure and experience. One class, one coach, one internship might change your life’s path, and it is likely an experience that the student couldn’t have anticipated before hand.

Education is fundamentally a human relationship. It’s not technology driven, it is people driven.

Every company wants people who can know their discipline, can write, communicate effectively, is comfortable speaking in front of a group, in a cross-cultural setting, and hopefully in another language. If you can do this, you are well positioned to succeed.
