Early on in preseason warm-ups, Coach Greg Bonnett has noticed his PCM football team displaying some impressive signs of quickness on the field. He says that with the speed on the team this year, he would like to bring back another dimension to their offense.
“I’m really happy with how the run game has come along,” Bonnett said. “Last year, we kind of turned into a one-dimensional team where we had VandeWall to Kane, VandeWall to this guy, VandeWall to that guy; we couldn’t really run the ball that well, especially after (Blake) McWilliams got hurt after the early part of the season.”
The Mustangs’ coach said that they have Ronnie Marshall back, who has been doing a good job in the fullback spot; Luke Cummings as well has appeared strong in the same position. Bonnett adds he’s excited to have McWilliams returning and a whole stable of running backs that are able to run the ball effectively. PCM and Knoxville do battle on the gridiron to begin their seasons on August 30.
