Thanks to the folks at Precision Pulley & Idler, Central’s Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium will be receiving a new Daktronics video display scoreboard. Central Athletic Director, Eric Van Kley, is excited that the video board will provide an enhanced “game day” experience for fans and players alike. The scoreboard measures 27 feet wide by 35-and-a-half feet tall, and the video display board that’s 21 feet, seven inches wide by 12 feet tall. The size of the video display board at Central will make it the biggest in the Iowa Conference. They will be installing it on the north end of the stadium, and can be synched with the automatic timing systems and display times and finishers for track and field events. The Dutch are preparing for their home and season opener against Wisconsin – Oshkosh on September 7.
