Teachers, janitors, grounds crews, principals and more are getting their schools ready for the upcoming school year. The Little Hawkeye Conference coaches as well are preparing for the upcoming cross country, football and volleyball seasons, and for many of them, they are making room for a new addition to the league: Dallas Center-Grimes. Pella High head volleyball coach, Catie Brand says that the Fillies present a welcomed challenge from a team they had on the schedule last season and beat 3 – 2. The Lady Dutch head coach tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that it’s nice they had already played them a little bit. Brand adds that the hardest part will be trying to learn what their strategies are, and how they fit in with the rest of the conference. Every conference team is going to look a little bit different, Brand says, and her team will be learning the adjustments, how they match up, and what their strengths are against each team they face.
