Marshalltown welcomes Pella Christian into town tonight as both schools open up their 2013 volleyball season. The Eagles are bringing a lot of height to the table, and they have their own “mental mission” this year. Head Coach, Cindy Nikkel says that mission is “One Mind, One Purpose.” Nikkel explains that the girls have goals that everybody believes in and goes after, and they are starting to act like that in practice. The Eagles’ coach says that when things end up not being good enough with whatever they’re doing, the girls tell their coach they want to do it again. She adds that her team is very self-motivated and she’s looking forward to seeing where all of this initiative takes them. The ninth-grade, JV and varsity teams are all in action tonight, with the varsity contest scheduled to start at around 6:15 p.m.
