Coming off two improved seasons, both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Central find themselves ranked in the top half of the Iowa Conference in preliminary polls. The Dutch women are projected to finish tied for third in the league with Dubuque after going 22 – 13 – 3 in their last two seasons combined. Loras and Wartburg were picked to finish one-two. On the men’s side, Loras was also picked to finish at the top, with the Central men ending up fourth. The Dutch men are coming off an 8 – 10 – 3, 2012 campaign and a trip to the conference tournament finals where they lost to the Duhawks. Both of Central’s soccer teams get their 2013 seasons going this Friday; the men head to St. Louis to play Washington and the women are up in Minnesota to take on St. Catherine.
