Fullback Bachman Impresses In Early Season Camp

One thing offensively that will be different for the fans of Knoxville football this season is a fullback. Normally, the spread offense does not utilize the fullback position, but as we reported to you earlier…the Panthers will at times use more traditional formations. Coach Troy Rider says Luke Bachman, who played as an undersized lineman last year, was moved to the fullback position and has impressed the coaches so far. Another runner that could play in the backfield this season is sophomore Connor Bailey. Rider says Bailey is small, but uses that to his advantage as he gets behind his blockers and does a good job of finding holes. The Panthers have also had to adjust their practice schedule due to the excessive heat this week. Rider tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that they are practicing under the lights at Randy Wilson Track.
