The heat wave continues Tuesday, with the forecast calling for a near-record high temperature. The temperature is expected to reach 98 degrees Tuesday afternoon – that would be close to the record of 100 degrees that was set in 1984 in Marion County. Judi Van Hulzen, with Marion County Public Health, reminds people to check up on their elderly neighbors and make sure they’re ok. For those around Melcher-Dallas, the community center is being used as a cooling center. You must call ahead to get access. Call 641-218-9528 for that access.
