Heat Wave Continues, Heat Advisory in Effect Until Tonight

Another hot day is in store for today. The projected high temperature of 96 degrees would be just a bit short of the record, which is 104. Still, the heat index is expected to reach 108 degrees. Marion County Senior Nutrition Program Director Dawn Allspach Kline encourages people who need cooling shelters to contact their local senior nutrition site. Knoxville, Pella, and PCM schools are letting out two hours early due to the heat Wednesday. Knoxville and Pella announced they’ll be out two hours early Thursday and Friday as well. Knoxville Alumni’s clean up of Ken Locke Stadium tonight at 5:00 has been cancelled.
