Kyle Larson was in a hurry last night. After hurrying to get back from Watkins Glen, New York where he was preparing for today’s NASCAR Nationwide race he had to get to Knoxville to run in the Friday show of the 53rd F-V-P Knoxville Nationals. He blasted from his third starting position to take the lead on lap two and never look back to win and put himself in the 17th starting spot of tonight’s championship A-Main. Cap Henry was second and he will start 18th, Chad Kemenah finished third and will start 19th, and Jac Haudenschild will start 20th after placing fourth. Larson then was escorted out of the track to a waiting helicopter to whisk him away to a waiting plane to head back to Watkins Glen. Meanwhile the World Challenge was raced and Brooke Tatnell gave Australia its eighth win and his second overall by passing Jason Johnson on lap 16. In the 20 races that have been run the United States now holds a 12-8 advantage in World Challenges won. Tonight is the greatest night of the greatest week in sprint car racing. It is championship night of the Knoxville Nationals. Joey Saldana and Brian Brown start on the front row.
