Both Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars will be in action in a pair of Week Zero games this Friday to open up the 2013 high school football season. For the Saints, new head coach, Mike Horstman has the fortune of coaching a team that has no seniors; just a good amount of very talented juniors anxious to show the Eight Man District 5 what they can do. They also are very in tune with the game, says Horstman. Over in Bussey, the Sabers are bringing back several key players who provide a lot of quickness on the field, which bodes well for a team that may be a little vertically challenged this season. Both squads open up their season at home this Friday; the Saints host Colo-Nesco, while the Sabers play Essex – South Page.
