Tulip Time is still over 8 months away, but Chandler Nunnikhoven and the City of Pella Parks Department will soon be planting over 104,000 bulbs for the 2014 festival. Currently Nunnikhoven and his staff are working with annuals to create themed flower beds all over town including Central Park, Sunken Gardens, and Brinkhoff Park. The Parks Department spends over 400 hours watering, 600 to 700 hours planting Tulips with the help of volunteers, and over 1,000 hours on Annuals each year.
