Pleasantville kicked off its 2013 football season in dramatic fashion on Friday night as the Trojans fell to the Rockets of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 27-21 in overtime. Pleasantville got off to an incredible start when Brock Busick took the opening play of the season 73 yards for the opening score. The Rockets would go on to take 21-7 lead in the fourth quarter, only to see Pleasantville storm back to tie the game at 21-all at the end of regulation. The Trojans would get possession first in overtime first, but a tipped pass would be intercepted in the end zone giving Eddyville-Blacksburg-Fremont the ball. From there, quarterback Dillon Pigsley would run in to the end zone from nine yards out for the winning score. Pleasantville finished the night with 327 total yards on offense. Pleasantville is 0 – 1 to start the year, and will be on the road next Friday as they take on the Blue Devils of Martensdale-St. Marys.
