Finishing the season with a trip to the Class 1A state semifinals, Twin Cedars’ baseball team in 2013 not only made an impression on the state, but solidified their legacy at their school for years to come. The Sabers’ boys broke at least six records during their phenomenal season. They won 36 games, a record, and lost just three, for a winning percentage of 92%, which, you guessed it, broke a school record. The Sabers’ smashed the school record for hits in a season; the previous record was 244, and the team ended up with a total of 414. They hit 87 doubles, 31 more than the old mark. They also hit 25 home runs and had a team ERA of 1.49. Coach Matt Miller says that he thinks the team broke records for runs in a season, with 423, and RBIs, at 376. The Sabers will be returning a majority of the starters, only losing Levi Jones and Eric Clark this past year to graduation.
