Twin Cedars’ football and their athletes are looking to follow up an extremely successful baseball season with a just-as-successful fall campaign on the gridiron. The Sabers’ had a goal of making the playoffs out of 8-man district 5 last year, and they achieved that, going 5 – 5 on the year but faced Murray in the first round and were defeated. Coach Aaron Allspach says his guys seem even more determined, even after most of them had a short turnaround from the baseball season. One big addition for Allspach and for Twin Cedars is former Pella High athlete, Garret Pettyjohn, who has open enrolled this school year. The Sabers will be having a Gatorade Scrimmage tomorrow at the high school at 6:00 p.m. The cost of admission is simply a bottle of Gatorade to help the team out. Twin Cedars’ football officially gets the season started in Week Zero at home against Essex-South Page on August 23.
