A strong first half was just not enough for Central football on Saturday afternoon, as they fell short of upsetting Wisconsin – Oshkosh, 24 – 20. The Dutch took advantage of every opportunity handed to them in the first half, capitalizing on a fumble recovery and a turnover on downs to take a 17 – 0 lead into the locker rooms. It would not take long for the Titans to get back into the game, scoring one minute into the second half and not stopping there. Oshkosh put up 24 unanswered points as their passing game was virtually unstoppable, while the Dutch could not get anything going on their side after quarterback Aaron Eiseler left the game with an injury. Brendon Boerm led the Dutch with ten catches for 119 yards, and Eisieler went 18-for-26 passing for 178 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Central begins the season 0 – 1, and will play their next game under the lights in Rock Island, Illinois against Augustana this Saturday.
