Alanya Bailey’s hat trick wasn’t even half of the total offense Central’s women’s soccer team put up on Saturday against Maranatha Baptist, winning 8 – 0. The Dutch women improve to 4 – 2 on the season and will play Monmouth on Wednesday. With less than one minute in overtime, Aleksandar Glavas found the back of the net for the sixth time this season to give the Central men’s soccer team a 2 – 1 victory over Augustana. The Dutch men are now 3 – 3 and will also be playing Monmouth on Wednesday. The Central women were nearly shutout on the tennis courts against Coe, 8 – 1 on Saturday morning. They fall to 5 – 1 overall and 2 – 1 in Iowa Conference duals. They next play Tuesday against Buena Vista in Fort Dodge. Central volleyball dropped two three-set matches against Wisconsin – River Falls and Minnesota – Morris. Central is 3 – 7 now and will have today to prepare for their first conference test on the road at Wartburg on Tuesday. Finally, the Central women stayed consistent all weekend at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic and posted a 15th place finish out of 21 schools. Kelsey Van Tasell had the low score for Central over the weekend, with a two-round total of 168, good for 49th place overall individually. The women get back to the course this weekend for the Luther Fall Invitational in Decorah.
