The Des Moines Area Community College is just one of seven Iowa community colleges that have levy’s on the ballot this Tuesday. Rob Denson with DMACC, says their district includes Marion County, and all, or parts of 21 other counties. One of the levy’s up for vote is the twenty and a quarter plant fund levy, which is used for repairs and renovations of facilities. The other vote is for the six cent equipment levy, which allows DMACC to purchase welders, computers, tool and dye equipment, and other items needed for training programs. Denson adds that this is used strictly for facilities and equipment needed for training.
