Breaking an eight match losing streak this past Saturday, the Pella Christian volleyball squad will try to keep the ball rolling tonight when they host the lowly Oskaloosa Indians for a conference match. The Eagles dropped just one of their 11 sets they played in the North Mahaska tournament a few days ago, sweeping the tournament to improve to 7 – 11 on the season. The Indians, on the other hand, have had problems winning matches, but have played tough competition throughout their schedule and enter the Eagles’ gym tonight with a record of 1 – 16. Coach Cindy Nikkel says her middle players have really been work on their technique lately. Nikkel adds that she’s excited to see Abby Pleima continue to develop as an effective setter to help bolster their offense. Pella Christian plays at 7:15 p.m. tonight on the varsity side.
