Anyone who enjoys a nice glass of wine now and again, will be happy to know that the recent weather didn’t ruin the local grape harvest. Karen Haworth, co-owner of Grape Escape Winery in Pleasantville, says that the berries are a bit smaller this season, but pack more of a punch. Adam Nunnikhoven with Tassel Ridge says that they grow more than 10 kinds of grapes, which are different than those in California, that are acclimated to the Iowa climate.
