The first program in a legislative education series begins tonight in Marion County. State Senator Jack Hatch will be talking about Healthcare reform and what can be expected from the Affordable Care Act. Hatch is a White House advisor on state-level healthcare reform. He’s also a Democratic candidate for Governor next year. He’ll be at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum at 6:30pm for the discussion. The event is being sponsored by the Marion County Democrats. Two other events are scheduled for next month as part of the Legislative Education Series. Des Moines Water Works Director Bill Stowe and former Iowa Agriculture Secretary candidate Francis Thicke are scheduled to discuss water quality in separate events.
