Knoxville fell to Newton last night in Volleyball action three sets to one. The Cardinals took the match 25-19, 8-25, 25-18, and 25-22. Knoxville seemed to grab momentum after easily winning game two on the serving of Haley DeMoss and the intense play of the entire team. However, The Cardinals would come back and take sets three and four to clinch the match. Coach Liz Sanders told KNIA/KRLS that her team may have lost a little of their edge after that second set when they won so easily. Cheyenne Jones had 12 kills and Ashley Hawkshead had four blocks with Emily Wallace getting 14 digs and DeMoss netting 14 of her own. Meredith Cunningham served up four aces and 22 assists. Knoxville falls to 8-7 on the season and into a third place tie with Dallas Center-Grimes at 2-1 in the conference. The Panthers head to Pella Christian this Saturday.
