The Pella High girls had little-to-no problem handling Oskaloosa last night in their conference opener, beating the Indians in consecutive sets, 25 – 12, 25 – 19 and 25 – 16. Coach Catie Brand tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she was able to play everyone, which is always a plus. Brand also said that her girls were serving more aggressively, but resulted in less accurate serves. Despite the conditions and the environment surrounding the game last night, Brand says her girls put all of that aside and just played great volleyball. Jessica Holterhaus had 12 kills and Makenna Bogaard had ten to lead the way for the Lady Dutch, who improve to 8 – 7 on the year and begin the season 1 – 0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella is off until Saturday when they head to Altoona for more tournament action.
