Andrew Schmidt thought it’d be a good way to serve the community. That’s why he decided to run for the Knoxville School Board. Schmidt, the pastor at Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville, tells KNIA/KRLS News that he has a vested interest in the future of the district. He and his wife have four children, with another one on the way. Schmidt says he has some experience in how schools work as his dad was a principal and his mom a teacher for several decades. He notes that he doesn’t expect to have all the answers when he starts, but he wants to learn and ask the right questions so the board can make the right decisions
