A Knoxville man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of strangling and throwing a woman. 32-year-old Frederick Sayre is currently in the Marion County Jail. According to Marion County court records, the alleged victim told police that she had tried to awaken Sayre from his sleep several times. When Sayre finally woke up, he allegedly put the woman in a choke hold before throwing her onto the bed. Sayre has been charged with domestic abuse assault while impeding breathing. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted and will be in court for a preliminary hearing next Friday.
