The Knoxville Self-Sustaining Municipal Improvement District is seeking applications for facade improvements downtown. Chairman Dr. Larry Formanek tells KNIA/KRLS News where the money comes from and outlines the borders of the district. The committee will pay for half of the costs of improvements, and have provided up to $4,000 for some projects. They are also doing something new this year. Applications can be obtained from the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce.
