Cross country saw some Monday action in Ballard yesterday, and both Pella and PCM were content with the progress they showed at the meet. Pella’s varsity girls placed first overall while PCM finished tenth, and over on the boys’ side, Pella came in second to Boone by just three points and the Mustangs were tenth. For the girls, Tess Roorda was the fastest overall at the meet and for the Lady Dutch with her time of 15:30 and Molly Pfitzenmaier was fourth at 15:51. The two Rachel’s again were quickest for PCM; Rachel Stafford was tenth at 17 minutes flat and Rachel Peter was 30th with her time of 18:10. For the boys, Ben Warner’s time of 16:58 with sixth best overall and fastest for the Little Dutch, and right behind him was Jordan Pingel in seventh at 17:05. PCM’s fastest times included a ninth place time of 18:14 from Matt Chizek, and a 39th best time of 20:28 from Chris Ellens. The Mustangs are next in action on Thursday at Lynnville-Sully while Pella will race on Iowa State’s course this Saturday.
