Conference volleyball was not kind to Pleasantville and PCM last night, as each school was defeated in league play. Pleasantville dropped in five sets to Nodaway Valley, losing game one 19 – 25, winning the next two 25 – 23 and 25 – 19, but again coming up short in the end, 25 – 27 and 10 – 15. PCM was swept by Gilbert in their first Heart of Iowa Conference match, 7 – 25, 19 – 25 and 11 – 25. Courtney Van Houweling was 8 – 8 serving with an ace and Abbi Gilson had five kills. The Trojans fall to 4 – 5 and 1 – 2 in the Pride of Iowa Conference while the Mustangs are 1 – 5 overall and 0 – 1 in league play. PCM is at South Hamilton this Tuesday and Pleasantville plays in a tournament in Bussey tomorrow.
