The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team went into action yesterday evening for approximately an hour, beginning at 4:45 PM when a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northern Marion County. Two additional warnings were issued, first for the entire county, and then for only the southern portion. Golf ball sized hail was reported in Pleasantville, and high winds blew down trees and tree limbs primarily through the northern part of the county. First responders and area road and utility crews responded to the downed limbs in several locations. A total of 1.11 inches of rain fell in Knoxville, 72/100’s of an inch in Pella.
