Shortly after 10:00 a.m. this morning, Harvey Fire Department, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Clay Township Fire Department, and Knoxville rescue were dispatched to a house fire in the 100 block of 4th Street in Harvey. The home was fully engulfed in flames when rescuers arrived. Officials on scene tell KNIA/KRLS NEWS that all occupants of the home were evacuated safely. It is suspected that the fire started in the basement of the home. Alliant Energy and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad were on scene as well, monitoring the situation because of the proximity to the railroad tracks in Harvey. The Red Cross is helping the family who rented the home, which was a total loss.
