The Little Hawkeye Conference Cross Country Meet is today. The Knoxville Squads both have different goals. On the girls side…the Panthers are looking more for individual glory. Coach Mike Moats says Courtney Hughs and Kalene Schuenke are going for all-conference honors, which requires a finish of 15th or better. For the boys, while not in the conversation for the conference title, they do have a few goals of their own. Moats tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that he thinks they can finish ahead of a few of the conference teams they have been chasing recently. He says they have been even with Newton most of the season and have been catching Oskaloosa coming within four points of the Indians at the Knoxville Invitational two weeks ago. Moats ads Norwalk and Dallas Center-Grimes are the two wildcards since Knoxville has not raced against those teams this season.
