Grit and determination have been word to describe the Knoxville Volleyball Squad this season. Add the words “come-from-behind” to the adjectives to describe the Panthers as they beat Norwalk in five sets 25-19, 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, and 15-six. Knoxville seemed to control the first and second sets up 21-16 in set two only to see the Warriors come back and win 26/24. Knoxville dropped the third set and was forced into a must-win situation for the rest of the match…which the Panthers did. Coach Liz Sanders told KNIA/KRLS the girls have that fight in them and it showed last night. Erica Fee had 13 kills along with 20 digs on the night, while Ashley Hawkshead contributed 12 kills and Cheyenne Jones added 11. Meredith Cunningham dealt out 38 assists. Knoxville is now 11-9 in the season and 3-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference just one match out of first place.
