One of the most anticipated events on the cross-country schedule is tonight as the Knoxville Panthers host their invitational at Pine Knolls Country Club. Pine Knolls is known for its hilly course…however…many teams say it is one of their favorite meets because of the challenge it provides. The Knoxville boys will look to prepare for their bigger meets of the season like the conference meet in two weeks and the state qualifier later on. Coach Mike Moats says with a younger squad this season, he is very pleased with how the two sophomores, Preston Lee and Mitchell Hollingshead have responded. Nearly every school within an hour’s drive of Knoxville will be at the Panther Invitational which gets underway with middle school races at around 4:15, followed by J-V, and then varsity.
