The purpose of last’s night and Thursday’s Save A Life Radiothon is to promote breast cancer awareness and encourage women to schedule their yearly mammogram. Dr. Bob Leonard spoke with women in Pella last night, who shared stories of struggle and survival. Marilou Ozinga, Medical Imaging Supervisor at Pella Regional, says that it’s so important to find these early cancers at a point where it can be easily treated. She goes on to say that this way, the woman’s life doesn’t have to be affected to drastically, she can just get treatment and return to her normal routine. Tomorrow Dr. Bob will speak with women in Knoxville and hear their stories of strife and resilience. KNIA and KRLS’s Big Red Radio will be on location at the Knoxville Hospital from 4pm to 8pm Thursday, playing music and making announcements.
