There was a lot of scoring, a lot of yards, but the same result for the Knoxville Football Squad last night against Norwalk as the Panthers fell to the Warriors 35-27. The Panthers fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter but responded with a one yard touchdown by Deon Snider to close the gap to 14-7. Norwalk would score again to make it 21-7, however Knoxville got some momentum heading into halftime with a 76-yard touchdown when Davis completed a pass to Ross Shelford, who then lateraled to Tanner Dunkin, who took it to the end zone for the score to make it 21-14 at the half. Norwalk would come out and make it a 21 point game with two quick third quarter scores, but Knoxville did not give up as the Panthers got a touchdown run from Gerritt Davis and a reception by Justin Karnes to close the gap to 35-27, however Knoxville could get no closer. The Panthers had their chances inside Norwalk territory, but were unable to cash in. Coach Troy Rider told KNIA/KRLS his guys never gave up. The Panthers generated 384 yards total offense with Gerritt Davis going 12/21 through the air for 268 yards, 181 went to Ross Shelford on six catches. Tanner Dunkin led the Panther ground attack with 62 yards on 20 carries. Knoxville falls to 0-8 on the season and will finish off the 2013 campaign next Friday against Oskaloosa.
