Rachel Stafford will be racing in Fort Dodge after being one of the ten fastest runners at the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet in Panora yesterday. The Pella Christian boys and girls did not qualify; the Eagles’ boys finished in sixth place as a team, while the girls came in tenth. Leading the Eagles’ girls, Marina Shannon was 33rd with a time of 18:17, and for the boys, Jacob Lensing was 22nd overall at 18:46. Coach Jocelyn Meinders tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the team is already looking ahead to next year with all of their runners who ran for the first time ever and gained a year of experience. The Mustangs’ Stafford was ninth in a time of 16:46 to be the lone qualifier from either school to advance to the State Meet on November 2.
