PCM’s volleyball team toppled Saydel Tuesday night, and now they are looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season when Heart of Iowa Conference rival Nevada comes to town. The Mustangs enter with a 3 – 13 record, and while a majority of Class 3A teams have played at least 20 matches, PCM will just reach that milestone in the latter part of the Pella tournament this Saturday. It’s tough establishing momentum from match-to-match when you have big gaps in your schedule, Coach Mollie Keitges says. The Cubs enter play with a 21 – 11 record, and are very aggressive servers; they are fourth in the state in Class 3A in total aces, but have a less than 89% serving efficiency. Tonight’s JV match in Monroe is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and the varsity contest is slated for seven.
