Posted By News On October 5, 2013 @ 6:25 am In Today’s Local News | Comments Disabled

The Pella Crop Walk is an excellent way to raise awareness for hunger and homelessness locally, nationally, and internationally, according to Chery Doane, Director of Community Based Learning at Central College. Doane says that approximately 250 Central students during the semester are sent to work with agencies in Des Moines, Ottumwa, Oskaloosa, Knoxville, Newton and Pella, who serve the common good, and frequently deal with homelessness, hunger, and other issues dealing with poverty. The 5k starts at 2 pm tomorrow, beginning and ending at the Tulip Toren on the Pella town square. For more information, a pledge packet, or to make a donation, contact Larry Happel at 628-52-78.
