Pella High head football coach, Jay McKinstrey is not shy to admit that his team will probably be running the ball most of the time. In fact, that’s what makes the Little Dutch so scary; teams know Pella is going to run, but they haven’t really been stopped by anybody thus far. As far as Pella’s pass game is concerned, sophomore Noah Clayberg has shown he does have an arm and will occasionally go over the top on defenses. Most recently, the Little Dutch quarterback threw for a 21-yard touchdown to Ben Konfrst and went 6-for-9 for 61 yards and an interception in their win over Oskaloosa on Friday. Coach McKinstrey says that his team will still pound the ball, but as the weeks go by, they will need to force teams to be ready for the passing game. Pella’s win over Oskaloosa guarantees the Little Dutch will win the Class 3A District 8 Championship, but they still have another goal in mind; to win the outright title by beating Winterset at home this Friday night.
