Pella Christian’s dominating performance plus a little help last week put the Eagles in a position to make it to the playoffs which start this Wednesday. Tonight, they will need to topple a struggling Mount Ayr squad to secure a spot. The Raiders have lost two of their last three contests, including losses to Ogden and Van Meter. Quarterback Jacob Sobotka has been his usual self in the passing game that we saw last year; he has over 1,000 yards passing with 11 touchdowns, but has only rushed for 554 yards this season, and leads the team in that category. With so much riding tonight, Coach Rich Kacmarynski has pitched this game with a “do-or-die” mentality to his players. Last week, Pella Christian scored just about every way they could, and are hoping to use the experience from two close losses to both Ogden and Van Meter to lead them to victory tonight. A win by the Eagles would give them the number three seed out of Class 1A District 7. You can hear tonight’s game live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Larry Hessing calling the play-by-play. Pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at seven. A quick programming note, the KNIA/KRLS Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show will be from 6:00 – 6:30 on 92.1 KRLS, and then switch over to AM 1320 KNIA exclusively due to the early start time for Eagles’ football.
