If you own a building in Knoxville’s S.S.M.I.D., or Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District, in downtown Knoxville, you are eligible to apply for funds obtained by Marion County, through property taxes paid each year, and made available through the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Facade Improvement Program. This program has approved projects to improve windows, doors and store fronts, replacing glass, funding signage for Knoxville businesses and restoring facades to resemble the original condition, among other items. For questions or to apply for funds, contact the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce or any S.S.M.I.D. committee member.
