Saints Nearly Let Win Slip Away, Hold on Over Tiger-Hawks

Melcher-Dallas’ volleyball team coasted in the first two games over Colfax-Mingo, but had to win a close fifth set to tally the match victory last night. The Saints won games one and two 25 – 17 and 25 – 13, before falling in sets three and four 17 – 25 and 23 – 25. The Saints and Tiger-Hawks played close in the dual-implication set, with Melcher-Dallas coming out on top 15 – 13. Six different Saints recorded an ace, led by Anastasia Dennison who had four. Jessica Anderson led in kills with 11 and MacKenzie Suntken had 27 digs to lead the way for her Saints. Melcher-Dallas is now 11 – 7 on the season and they’ll play at Moulton-Udell tomorrow night.
