Defensive lineman Danny Samson for the Central football team was named to the D3football.com team of the week for the second time in 2013 thanks to his impressive showing against Buena Vista on Saturday. The 255-pound two-time letterwinner recorded four sacks of the Beavers’ Bobby Brown to help charge a 23 – 13 comeback win by the Dutch this past weekend. In all, Samson recorded 11 tackles, five of them for a loss, and came up with a key fumble recovery. Samson leads the league with eight sacks for 52 yards. Central will host Luther this Saturday in Pella at 1:00 p.m. for their next Iowa Conference bout.
