As reported last week by KNIA KRLS News, a federal and state investigation is ongoing of Community Care Inc., (CCI) the company that manages nine facilities, including the Marion County Care Facility. In an update released yesterday, the investigation has resulted in the removal of the entire existing management team, at all locations. The Board of Directors for CCI entered into a Settlement Agreement with the Iowa Department of Human Services, and Iowa Medicaid Enterprise that allows CCI to continue to receive payments under the Medicaid program, and to continue its operations. Mark Raymie, member of Marion County Board of Supervisors tells KNIA KRLS News that the Board is monitoring the situation closely, and as always, the health and safety of the residents and staff of the facility are their first priority. Currently, the acting management team in Knoxville is led by Robin Nims. No charges have been filed in the case.
